Dren (Drenbuterol)

Drenbuterol is a bodybuilding supplement and diet pill that you’ve likely seen in many headlines over the last while, but particularly a few years ago when it caused quite a stir.  Before thinking about taking a product that includes this substance, it is exceptionally important that you learn more about it.

This will help you to know you’re making the right choice for yourself. That way, you’ll know you’re not only getting your best results, but you’re doing so in a way that will be safe for your body.  Whether your goals are to lose weight through fat burning or to enjoy better muscle definition, you need to know what you’re taking to get there.

What is Drenbuterol?

Drenbuterol, also known as Dren, is a nonprescription fitness and dietary supplement that is marketed as a fat burner as well as a thermogenic product. This suggests that it works by increasing the body temperature so that more calorie and fats are burned off as heat. The formula, itself, has been patented and the claim is that it provides dieters with a more potent and safer alternative to Clenbuterol.

This product is manufactured by MHP (Maximum Human Performance), which produces a number of products marketed to bodybuilders and dieters. The manufacturer does have a page dedicated to Dren on its website, and sell this product directly online, as well as from a number of other third-party sellers.

It claims to be an “advanced pharmacological approach to fat annihilation”. It speaks a lot about scientists but not about any specific clinical studies that show that the formula as a whole actually works.

What’s in Dren?

The ingredients in the Drenbuterol formula include the “Mesolimbic Beta Agonist Complex” of 409 mg, total. The substances within that complex include an unknown quantity of caffeine, L valine, water, yohimbe bark (pausinystalia yohimba), and HCl. Because of this list, the company cautions against using this product more than one time every day and against combining it with other stimulants or supplements.

This is a powerful list of stimulants that is likely to cause side effects in many users.  It contains more than one stimulant ingredient, which means there is a risk of experiencing any or all of the following side effects, among others:

  1. Jitters
  2. Trembling
  3. Sleep struggles
  4. Anxiety
  5. Headache
  6. Upset stomach/nausea
  7. Diarrhea
  8. Rapid heartbeat
  9. Raised blood pressure

Do People Still Use Dren?

Dren is marketed primarily toward bodybuilders who are looking to slash the fat on their bodies so that the muscle will show a great deal more definition. It has gained a great deal of attention and is mentioned on many different forums and websites. Some people also use it as a fat burner when they’re looking for extra help with weight loss.  That said, due to the high risk of side effects from the stimulants, it’s not recommended that people use these pills if they don’t intend to follow their use with an intense physical workout.

This product is sold in boxes of 30 capsules and at the time of this review, the price of the product has skyrocketed over what it was only a handful of years ago.  Upon initial review, it cost $39.99 when purchased directly from the manufacturer’s website. That said, it could be found on other websites for a great deal less.

In August 2019, the product was no longer being sold on the MHP website and third-party sites selling the product were few and far between. Only one could be located through search engine queries and it was selling the product in bulk packages of 4 or more at a considerably higher price.  This suggests that the product may have been discontinued and that merchants are selling off the last of their stock.

Did Customers Like It?

Although the official website did originally provide the opportunity for consumers to leave feedback, either none opted to do so at last viewing, or none of the reviews that have been left had been posted. No satisfaction guarantee could be found on the official website when this review was originally written. This makes the product a greater risk, as the consumer is required to take the chance that the product will not produce side effects and that it will be effective.

Reviews on third party sites showed that Drenbuterol has been associated with a number of side effects, such as an increased heart rate, nervousness and anxiety, and even dehydration. Dren is not recommended for people who have persistent heart conditions. If you do have the opportunity to try this product, it is extremely important to speak with your doctor first.

Review updated August 2019, at which time Drenbuterol appears to have been discontinued.
